After over 10 years of global trotting, including 2 world cups, the flag decided it was time to take his life into his own hands and plan a trip into a remote part of Africa, sleep under canvas amongst the wild animals and hope to witness the spectacular great wildebeest migration in the northern Serengeti.
The flag enjoyed the trips in light aircraft, flying close to an active volcano and the rough grass runway on arrival; the amazing display of the starts at night but, most of all, the encounters with Lion, Cheetah, Hyena as well as Giraffe, Warthog, snakes, vultures and over 1,500,000 wildebeest!! The wildebeest were as Basil would have described them in Faulty Towers, roaming the plains of the Serengeti, but not visible from a window at a Torquay hotel.
The flag is now safely back in Chalfont, enjoying our great start to the season and looking forward to its future great adventures, which will hopefully include a cup final or two come the end of the season!
